Upcoming Events

The 18th annual Illinois Route 66 Red Carpet Corridor Festival will be held on May 3 & 4, 2025. This two-day festival is sponsored by the fifteen communities comprising the 100-mile stretch of Route 66 from Joliet to Bloomington.

Experience our 4.1-mile stretch of the Mother Road and stop by near the flagpoles at the 4-way stop on Old Route 66 to learn more about the history of our Towanda Parkway. Have fun engaging in a mapping and signpost activity by using your problem-solving skills. T shirts and refreshments will be available for purchase with all proceeds going towards maintaining our Parkway.

Visit the Towanda American Legion, 2017 Hely Street for the giveaway. The Legion will have sales to support upgrades to their facility. The Village of Towanda, and surrounding communities, Indian Creek and Lamplighter, will have area wide garage sales.
