On September 18, 2015 the Towanda, Illinois Route 66 Parkway was granted federal income tax exempt status by the Internal Revenue Service under Section 501(c) (3). As a nonprofit institution donors cam deduct contributions they make to the Parkway. Our Parkway is also qualified to receive tax deductible bequests, devises, transfers or gifts. Your contribution is tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. The federal government encourages your generosity by allowing you to deduct your gift on your income tax return, if your itemize. Upon request a written receipt will be provided for your records. Your contribution will help us to purchase materials needed to enhance and maintain our Towanda, Illinois Route 66 Parkway for the many visitors from across the country and throughout the world. The thousands of hours required for sustaining our piece of the Mother Road is based solely on volunteer labor. Please consider making a contribution to help us in our preservation efforts to share our 3 1/2 miles of Route 66 Parkway with current and future generations.
